Percy ist kein ganz gewöhnlicher Junge. Andauernd passieren ihm merkwürdige Dinge, wegen derer er immer wieder die Schule wechseln muss. Seine Legasthenie und der Partner seiner Mutter machen ihm das Leben auch nicht einfacher. Doch dann ergeben die Seltsamheiten seines Lebens plötzlich einen Sinn und die Geschichten aus dem Lateinunterricht werden Teil seiner Lebensrealität.

Meine Meinung

Percy Jackson ist eine der Reihen, die ich vom Hören-Sagen schon lange kenne, und die dementsprechend den „Muss ich irgendwann mal noch lesen“-Status hatte.

vor einiger Zeit habe ich den Namen Robert W. Chambers in einem Satz mit H.P. Lovecraft gelesen, weswegen ich unbedingt mal etwas von deinem Autor lesen wollte. Da kamst du mir als Kurzgeschichtensammlung ganz gelesen, um einen Einblick in seine Werke zu erhalten.

Ich hatte eine Mischung aus Lovecraft und Poe erwartet und deine ersten Kurzgeschichten, also diejenigen, die sich wirklich um das fiktive Buch The King in Yellow handeln, wurden dem auch durchaus gerecht.

ich habe dich gefunden, weil ich während eines Internetausfalls auf der Suche nach einer eher leichten Wochenendlektüre war. Und obwohl deine Geschichte sich auch mit ernsten Themen befasst, klang der Klappentext doch locker genug, dass meine Wahl auf dich fiel.
